Privacy Policy

etoku (etoku.app) is run by Will Morrison in Colorado, United States. This policy explains what etoku collects, why, who else handles it, and what you can do about it. Questions go to support@etoku.app.

What etoku collects

etoku's application logs record the page requested, the response status and timing. They don't record your IP address or query strings. To limit sign-in abuse, etoku stores a one-way hash of your email address and IP address for up to 15 minutes. The hosting provider's network equipment processes IP addresses to deliver traffic.

Cookies

etoku uses only cookies it needs to work:

There are no advertising or analytics cookies, tracking pixels or third-party scripts.

How it's used

Your information is used to run etoku: to sign you in, choose and schedule your lessons, show your progress, answer your reports, keep the service secure and fix problems. Learning activity may also be studied in aggregate to improve teaching, for example to find sentences that confuse learners. etoku doesn't sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it for anyone else's marketing.

Who else handles it

etoku may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of etoku, its users or others. If etoku is transferred to a new owner, your information would move with it under this policy.

How long it's kept

Your information is kept while your account exists. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and are removed within the hour. Setup answers are removed when you sign in, or after 30 days if you never do.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. That immediately removes your email address, learning history, imports, settings, ratings and reports. Copies in server backups, if any, are overwritten within 30 days.

Your choices and rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to how it's used, by writing to support@etoku.app. etoku answers within 30 days. Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California and Colorado, the law gives you these rights, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.

Where the GDPR applies, etoku relies on two legal bases: providing the service you signed up for, and legitimate interests in keeping it secure and improving its teaching. Your information is processed in the United States.

Children

etoku is not for children under 13, or under the minimum age for digital consent where you live. If you believe a child has made an account, write to support@etoku.app and it will be deleted.

Security

Connections use HTTPS. Sign-in links and session tokens are stored only as one-way hashes, and sign-in links work only in the browser that requested them. No system is perfectly secure, so etoku can't guarantee the security of your information.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes. If a change materially affects how your information is used, etoku will email you before it takes effect.
